Van Wyk Auto is a family-owned repair shop with deep roots in the Sheboygan community. Our story began in 1977, when Doug Wrench opened Doug’s Auto Service. In 2012, Scott Fahser became the owner, building on Doug’s commitment to quality and customer care.
Ben Van Wyk’s automotive career began in 2008 at the Universal Technical Institute in Illinois, followed by hands-on experience in multiple repair roles. In 2014, Ben joined the team at Doug’s Auto, bringing technical expertise and a dedication to excellence. By 2019, Ben became the sole owner of Doug’s Auto. In 2020, he purchased American Pride Auto and unified both operations under the Van Wyk Auto name.
Today, Ben leads a growing team of ten skilled technicians and service professionals with a simple mission: provide exceptional automotive repairs with honest, transparent service. We treat every customer with the same respect and care we want for our own families.
This fall, we’re opening a new, state-of-the-art service facility with 13 bays—making Van Wyk Auto the largest independent garage in Sheboygan County. The expanded space, advanced diagnostics, and upgraded amenities—including a comfortable customer lounge with a coffee bar—mean faster turnarounds, easier scheduling, and the same trusted service you expect.

Ben - Owner / Operator
Ben has 17 years in the auto industry, Ben brings unmatched experience and precision to everything he does. Off the clock, you’ll find him golfing, hunting, or relaxing at his cabin up north—when he's not under the hood fine-tuning something just for fun. His passions reflect the same dedication and craftsmanship that drive his professional work.
Isaac - Technician
Issac has 8 years of experience in the industry. He started his career in the Navy as a construction mechanic with the Seabees. A devoted husband, he enjoys music, playing multiple instruments, and building models in his spare time.
Paul - Technician
With 45 years in the industry, Paul is a seasoned professional. A proud father of two daughters, he enjoys fishing, hunting, and spending time outdoors.
Jan - Office Administrator
Jan is an experienced Office Administrator with 30 years in the industry. A proud mother of two sons and one daughter, and grandmother to three wonderful grandkids. She loves spending quality time with her family and enjoys being outdoors.
Bill - Service Advisor
Bill is a Service Advisor who enjoys playing bass and has a collection of over 100 hats. He has spent 20 years as a race announcer, combining his love for mechanics with his passion for entertainment.
Codi - Technician
Cody is an auto repair technician who enjoys video games, mountain biking, and camping in his free time. He combines his love for adventure with his technical skills, often exploring the outdoors on his bike or enjoying a weekend camping trip.
Mike- Technician
Mike is an auto repair technician and a dedicated family man who enjoys gaming and hunting in his leisure time. He lives by the motto, 'If it's broken, I can fix it. If I can't fix it, it's not broken,' which reflects his hands-on approach to both life and problem-solving.
Tom - Technician
Tom brings four years of experience in the automotive industry. Outside of work, he enjoys gaming, playing paintball, and building intricate Star Wars LEGO sets.
Stafford - Technician
Stafford brings 15 years of experience in the automotive industry. He enjoys watching Formula 1 racing and collecting firearms.
Angie - Service advisor
Angie brings 22 years of experience in the automotive industry. A former light-wheel vehicle mechanic in the Army, she honed her technical skills and commitment to service. In her free time, she enjoys fishing and golfing.
Michael - Manager
Michael has extensive experience managing car and RV dealerships. On his days off, he enjoys golfing and assisting with photography at Road America. He and his wife also love going on scuba diving trips, where they even swim with sharks.
Josh - Marketing Director
Josh is a marketing professional and lifelong car enthusiast. A devoted husband and proud father of two college-age kids, he enjoys scuba diving, photography, and traveling. He brings creativity and curiosity to everything he does—whether crafting campaigns, exploring new places, or capturing moments behind the lens.
Steven - Parts Coordinator
Steven brings three years of experience as a parts coordinator in the RV world to Van Wyk Auto. Outside of work, he enjoys riding his motorcycle, camping, watching racing, and adding to his gun collection.
